Since 2010, ArtsBridge Summer has given actors, singers, songwriters, classical vocalists, and fashion designers intensive, immersive training in their art form along with specialized guidance on what it takes to succeed in the college admissions process in their field. High school and college transfer students who are seriously considering a college major or minor in the arts will work with top college faculty and industry professionals from around the country. ArtsBridge Summer offers five programs which are all designed to prepare students for their college auditions: ArtSong: Students concentrate on solo classical vocal skills within the art song repertoire. The curriculum is focused on vocal technique, diction and language, repertoire, acting for singers, and performance and audition skills. Dramatic Acting: Students prepare for conservatory-style actor training with the type of rigorous instruction found in top college and conservatory programs. Designed to improve vocal and physical instruments, explore vital acting techniques, and get students fully prepped for the college audition process. Fashion Design: Students are introduced to the core concepts of fashion design. Through the creation of a mini collection, each student will develop the basic skills to create a mood board, illustrate their designs and explore fabric and color. Students will be introduced to 3D development through easy patternmaking and draping demonstrations that will allow them to understand the transformation from design sketch to runway garment. Designed to give students the creative tools to develop original work for a fashion design portfolio submission. Musical Theater: Students are guided on what it takes to be a well-rounded musical theater artist, from acting to song & dance with an eye on college admission in the performing arts. Rising high school seniors gain valuable insight into technique, repertoire, and preparing for college auditions. Musical Theater 2: Students receive specialized training on the pillars of musical theater, including private voice lessons, acting fundamentals, and dance for advanced high school sophomores and juniors. Students who are serious about studying musical theater but not quite ready to concentrate solely on their college auditions can focus on their core training and hone their skills.
