Augustana is a selective, comprehensive university affiliated with the Lutheran Church with 53 majors, 41 minors and 15 pre-professional programs for undergraduates, along with graduate degree. Augustana offers more than 50 majors and pre-professional specializations within a 4-1-4 academic calendar. Extensive internship, study abroad, undergraduate research and Civitas, the University?s Honors Program, supplement the curriculum. Our academic programs promote sensitivity to and appreciation of values essential for students to become effective citizens in local, national and international communities. At Augustana, you can study your passion and earn up to 60 credit hours of your undergraduate credts studying art in our new state-of-the-art facility. You can pursue a wide variety of disciplines ? sculpture, painting, ceramics, drawing, design, graphic design, art history, printmaking, pre-architecture and art education. You will also have the opportunity to go abroad to India, create stained glass in Germany, paint in Peru during Interim, or visit the great museums of Europe or New York on a spring break course. You can study philosophy, languages, history, the sciences or music alongside your studio courses. The Department of Music offers performance experiences that include international and regional touring, performances in the renowned Mary W. Sommervold Hall of the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science, and the opportunity to perform and learn from nationally known visiting artists.
