Camps Airy and Louise are the only brother/sister Jewish Camps in the country! We offer an overnight camping experience for kids entering 2nd12th grade that’s filled to the brim with fun, friendships, swimming and activities to match every interest. Camp Louise provides all this and more within an environment that strengthens our Jewish traditions and values. Camp Louise continues the traditions that have been part of its core. Many traditions of the past remain-wear white on Shabbat, folk dance on Friday evenings, and give every girl at Camp Louise the opportunity to express herself through the numerous programs – drama, dance, and athletics. Camp Louise is located in Cascade, MD within the Catoctin Mountains of Western Maryland. Each camper is housed in a bunk containing an average of 10-14 campers. Two or more college-aged counselors live in each bunk with the campers. Each bunk contains beds, bunk beds, closets, clothes dressers, and a bathroom, with private toilet and shower facilities. Counselor-In-Training Program Camp Airy and Camp Louise Counselors-In-Training (CITs) are campers who have completed 11th grade prior to the start of the summer. The goal of the program is to provide opportunities for the participants to master a defined series of job skills related to child care in a residential camp setting. CITs will also spend some time participating in and learning about specific components of the operations of camp. CITs who successfully complete the program have the opportunity to apply to be a fully-trained member of the staff of Camp Airy and Camp Louise following their graduation from high school.
