Nestled amongst the pine trees on Maine’s beautiful coastline, our Westside campus on Chewonki Neck is home to Camp Chewonki for Boys. We have been providing children opportunities to laugh, learn, and explore in the outdoors since 1915. Campers spend time learning about the natural world, remote travel, making friends, and, most importantly, themselves. Find out more! Chewonki campers immerse themselves in fun and educational activities focused on community building, outdoor living skills, natural history, farm and food systems, and watercraft. Additional activity offerings include visual arts, performing arts, woodworking, and archery with opportunities for swimming, sports, and recreation during free time. Essential to the experience is a remote trip to a beautiful corner of Maine where they will develop transferable skills in camping and leadership to prepare them for more advanced leadership expeditions and life beyond their Chewonki summer. We offer a 3-week Full Session camp program for campers aged 10-15, and a 10-day introduction to overnight camp called the Puffin Program for campers aged 8-11. Come experience the magic of camp and discover what’s inside of you! Check out our programs: Boys Camp Puffin Program (Ages 8-11, Grades 2-5): The Puffin Program is an opportunity for participants who are new to a summer camp experience. The Puffin Program provides participants with all of the laughter and learning, fun and friendship of Camp Chewonki, concentrated into 10 amazing days! Boys Camp Full Session (Ages 10-15, Grades 4-9): Children, ages 10 to 15, may attend Camp Chewonki for a Full Session. This 3-week experience provides campers with an opportunity to learn and grow as part of a cabin group of eight campers and two cabin leaders. Campers spend time in camp developing skills and having fun in daily activities, participating in camp life and traditions, and building towards embarking on an exciting and challenging remote trip in the beautiful woods and waters of Maine. While new campers join us in every age group, we have designed our overnight camp progression to increase in rigor with each successive summer to develop caring and confident leaders who are prepared with the skills to successfully graduate into our Leadership Expedition program.
