Celtic European Arts is a semester of travel, culture, artistic learning and adventure. Based in ‘the land of the Celts’ on the rugged Irish coastal town of Portrush you will explore across Ireland, Scotland, Germany and Holland. Our team of Irish artists will teach you a variety of art from photography and literature to ceramics and watercolours, helping you create your very own masterpiece for our end of semester exhibition! Our fantastic team are there for support 24/7. EuropeGap founders, Ricky and Jules, are a husband and wife team who have spent their lives travelling, experiencing different cultures, landscapes and languages while making lifelong friends along the way. EuropeGap has been carefully designed to offer you everything they value as important in life and will immerse you in the Celtic culture of their homelands, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Based from Portrush you are only a short cycle from the Giants Causeway and will call one of the most beautiful places in the world your home. On your doorstep you will find Irish myths and legends, castles and beautiful beaches. The world-famous landscapes are the perfect backdrop for the most exciting gap year semester, whether you are painting the jagged cliffs as a watercolour or jumping off them in a wetsuit! You will travel across Ireland visiting Dublin, Belfast, Derry and Galway, you will explore Scotland with your new friends in Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Scottish Highlands. In Holland you will walk the cobbled streets of Amsterdam, visiting the Van Gogh Museum and having a walking tour of the famous Red Light District. In Berlin you visit the Brandenberg gate and be inspired by the street art of the East Side Gallery. You will always have plenty of free time on your travels outside the epic experiences we have pre-arranged. In Portrush you will also go surfing, paddleboarding, hiking, kayaking and cycle the stunning coastal road on electric bikes. This program is developed for students with a passion for art and culture. You do not have to have any experience in art but must have a desire to learn and let creativity flow. The semester will be a mixture of program-led activities, workshops and travel with plenty of free time to explore and discover with new friends. We would love to meet you, arrange a video call, and answer any questions you have. Hopefully it will not be too long to see you dancing at your first traditional Irish music session!
