At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Serving as a Junior Coach is a fun and rewarding way for individuals under 18 years of age to get involved with Girls on the Run and make a difference in the lives of girls throughout their community. You get to experience the program first-hand, feel a sense of accomplishment, and have fun with your team of coaches and incredible girls! The position entails approximately 4 hours per week for a 10-week commitment. Junior Coaches must: Be a high school student Attend Girls on the Run coach training Be able to attend practices once or twice per week Complete a Coach Application Attend one day-long coach training Complete TB test and fingerprint background check And should: Have excellent communication skills and adaptability Be interested in youth development and healthy lifestyles Have fun!
