The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Texas would not exist today – and could not have been created without the time, energy, and dedication of thousands of volunteers throughout Texas. Volunteers are the backbone of this organization; so on behalf of the athletes we serve across the state, thank you for your interest and commitment to our movement. There is no experience required; however, you must be at least 15 years of age, unless accompanied by an adult. Volunteers participate in an orientation prior to working with our athletes. Visit our website for more information.
