This IPSL gap year program allows students to broaden their academic horizon while helping local communities of Guatemala. During the program, students will take courses about ecology, health systems, the Spanish language, and more! They can also expect daily cultural excursions and community service projects. Some volunteer service may include helping out at organic farm nonprofits, assisting with youth environmental conservation education, and devoting themselves to seed saving programs. As students travel together, they will learn from local experts and become familiar with the cultural multiplicity of Guatemala. They will surely come out of this program with invaluable skills and experience that they can use for the improvement of their respective communities.
