The MFA is a vibrant and engaging environment for teens! Teens develop leadership skills and learn about museum professions through the Teen Arts Council, provide valuable assistance to Museum visitors as Visitor Aides and Program Assistants, explore their creativity through studio art classes and workshops, and provide teen-focused events for their Boston-area peers to enjoy and engage the Museum’s global collections. Teen Arts Council The Teen Arts Council (TAC) is the MFA’s leadership development program and paid job opportunity for Boston-area teens. The TAC offers participants the opportunity to engage with art, culture, and history; develop workplace and team building skills; and learn about a range of professional options and career paths. Participants create and implement programs and events for their peers and the general public, and advise the MFA on engagement strategies for local teens and their families. Participants also have the opportunity to create wall labels in the wordUP program to accompany the curatorial labels in the Museum’s galleries. Applicants must attend a Boston public school and/or live in Boston. Curatorial Study Hall Internship The Curatorial Study Hall internship is a specialized project-based internship where students get to explore and delve deeper into exhibition creation, interpretation, and design. This program provides an excellent opportunity to develop career experience and a closer connection to art, meet great people, and explore the Museum and its collection. No art or museum background is necessary. Must be a current participant in youth organizations Becoming a Man or The BASE.
