Founded in 1986 by a small group of community activists, today Riverside Park Fund is a strong nonprofit partner with both the City and the community in conserving, improving and beautifying Riverside Park’s 330 acres. Want to Help Beautify Your Community? Need Service Hours? Interested in gaining green job skills? Join Riverside Park Conservancy’s Teen Corps! During the summer months Riverside Park Conservancy provides an experiential learning program for teenage volunteers interested in learning basic horticultural knowledge and skills. Volunteers work closely with our zone gardeners to care for spring plantings, prepare park areas for fall plantings, maintain key horticultural sites, and keep the park safe, clean, and healthy. All high school teens (rising freshmen — graduating seniors) are welcome to apply – in particular, teens living in the West Harlem neighborhoods of Hamilton Heights, Manhattanville, and Morningside Heights.
