The Rye Country Day Summer Session offers middle and upper school students the opportunity to develop areas of special interest, explore new ideas, earn advanced credit, or review subjects that need strengthening. Summer Session is open to qualified students from any school. Students may sign up for as many or as few classes as they would like. Classes are designed for rising fifth graders through rising twelfth graders (including newly accepted students). Class size generally ranges from four to twelve students, and material varies from algebra to philosophy and everything between. Minimum enrollment for a course is four. If there are fewer than four students enrolled in a course, the course will be cancelled. DATES: Courses meet for one- to six-week sessions, depending on the course. All courses meet everyday and take place between June 28 August 6, 2021. 2021 course dates and details are outlined below. LEARNING MODE: The School is prepared to hold Summer Session courses fully in-person with the option to learn fully remote depending on the family’s choice. With evolving health and safety guidelines guiding our planning and decision making, we may pivot to fully remote, if needed. Families will select their preferred learning mode (fully in-person or fully-remote) at the time of registration. POOL TESTING: If opting to attend Summer Session in-person, students are required to participate in weekly pool testing. There is an additional fee of $25 per week upon registration. If opting to learn fully remote, please make that selection at the time of registration to avoid the additional fee.
