This program is based on the exchange of language and culture for Spanish – and English-speaking students. There is a high Spanish to English speaker ratio, creating a privileged language immersion situation for campers who want to learn Spanish. Campers are totally immersed in Spanish culture. Our teachers and monitors are students who are currently studying at Saint Louis University – Madrid Campus. They share their culture and knowledge and direct all the camp activities under the careful supervision of a team of faculty from both Saint Louis University and Colegio San José. All classes are taught by native speakers. Teachers give language classes between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to groups of three to ten students, organized according to age. The classes are interactive and focus on Hispanic culture and everyday Spanish. In the afternoon, various workshops take place. Students choose which workshops to attend based on their interests. Workshop topics vary from journalism to archery, from card games to drama, and from international cuisine to photography.
