One of the premier riding camps in the country, Bonnie Castle has been helping girls ages 9 – 16 become better riders for over 30 years. Averaging two mounted sessions/day, girls will improve skills in Hunters, Jumpers, Dressage, Combined Training, and Equine Studies. Find out more! When you send your child to Bonnie Castle Riding Camp, you are sending her to one of the premier riding camps in the country. For over thirty years, we’ve offered instruction in Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation, Dressage, Combined Training, and Equine Studies. At the start of the session, we’ll evaluate your daughter’s ability, determine her instructional needs, and place her in an appropriate group. We’ll also pair her with a school horse suited to her size and ability, unless she brings her own horse to camp. Girls who prefer learning on their own horse may board it at SBS during camp. Riders must know how to tack up, walk, trot, and canter independently in order to qualify for our program. BCRC is a small camp, typically around 30 riders. At a camp devoted to riding, the girls quickly find common ground with peers, and develop wonderful friendships. Many come back year after year. While we enjoy seeing old friends, we excel at making new campers feel welcome. During her time here, your child will: Ride twice a day – typically once in a flat lesson and another in jumping (for those jumping)Take an Equine lesson each day, learning about topics such as tack, horse care, horse physiology, nutrition, facility design, and moreRelax with a daily crafts activityEnjoy fun evening programs – some barn-based and others at schoolParticipate in off campus activities on the weekendMake new friendsSwimExperience a horse show: a trip to see Grand Prix Jumping at the Vermont Summer Festival (schedule permitting)Participate in a demonstration horse show at the end of the sessionThe Bonnie Castle Riding Camp is excited to introduce a unique learning experience with the British Horse Society’s Challenge Awards. Currently, we will be the only program offering the BHS curriculum in the United States. The Challenge Awards allow campers to work at their own pace while improving their knowledge in horse care and riding. There are 32 personal development challenges to work towards, focusing on improving skills, knowledge and confidence. There are four levels, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum where campers can mix and match their challenges to fit their interests, earning certificates as they complete each section. The Challenge Awards help campers set goals in a non- competitive but progressive and rewarding program. This website uses cookies to ensure you get the best experience on our website.
