The flexibility of the Bahamas Explorer trip lets you choose how you want to spend 21-days on a beautiful sloop sailing through paradise! You can choose to go scuba diving the Bahamas or explore a deserted island. After its start in 2000, SeaTrek’s voyages in the British Virgin Islands had begun to really take off. Students returned for multiple voyages to take part in the exceptional scuba, sailing, and marine science training afforded by SeaTrek and its engaging and expert staff. Capt. Monk and Capt. Kat discussed how they might meet the growing demand for SeaTrek programs – especially returning students who weren’t looking for more SCUBA classes. Those students wanted to dive and explore more of the tropical wonderland of the Caribbean. Capt. Monk called on former colleague Capt. Ray who was running Bahamian dive charters on his own 65-ft. sailing sloop, the Avalon. This began the Bahamas Explorer Voyage, which continues to be one of SeaTrek’s most popular summer adventure camps. The 21-day Bahamas Explorer Voyage allows participants to choose the itinerary and log 40+ dives. How are you going to spend your time in this tropical wonderland? Scuba diving the Bahamas, fishing, hiking, swimming, sailing, exploring a deserted island, or relaxing on the boat? The Bahamas Explorer voyage is one of a kind and truly off the beaten path. Unlike our Main Program Voyages in the BVI, the Explorer Voyages do not offer SCUBA instruction so you will need to already be certified. And we hope you are ready to dive, dive, dive! In some cases program options can include school credit and SCUBA specialty courses like underwater photography. SeaTrekkers experience the joy of blue water sailing, personal encounters with playful dolphins, exploring limestone caves (grottos), and the excitement of drift and wreck diving, as well as several dives with reef sharks. In addition to world-class diving and sailing, fishing (trolling and spearing) is a favorite activity. This website uses cookies to ensure you get the best experience on our website.
