The Tyler Institute of Art and Architecture offers six different pre-college programs designed to promote creativity and innovation. Pre-requisites and requirements vary by the specific program. Find out more! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Pre-College Programs will be online for the summer of 2021. Despite the shift to virtual learning, all programs have been adapted for online and interactive learning. The six different opportunities offered include: -Environmental Design Institute: Designed for 10th-12th graders who are interested in exploring a career in the fields of landscape architecture and horticulture. No previous experience is required. -Portfolio Boot Camps: This program is open to 11th and 12th graders seeking help in developing a college admission art portfolio. -Art Start and DigiStart: This program is full scholarship and open for applications from upperclassmen enrolled in the Philadelphia School District Public or Charter high schools. These students can expect to develop their creative abilities and artistic expertise. -Architecture Institute: The Tyler Architecture Institute seeks to introduce 10th-12th graders to the discipline of architecture and design. -Pre-College Summer Studios: Tyler Pre-College Summer Studio allow students to advance their artistic abilities and explore new creative outlets. The college-level studio art and design courses will surely allow students to gain valuable experience. -Weekend Workshops: Open to high schoolers and adults, the Weekend Workshops take place during the weekend in the fall and the spring. During the program, students can expect to learn directly from practicing professionals and gain insight into career paths in the creative fields.
