WWOOF-USA stands for Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms ad is a non-profit organization spread by grass-roots actions from volunteers, or WWOOFers, to promote organic and sustainable households, cultural and educational experiences, and contribute to building a more sustainable global community.
There are over 1,700+ host farms all across the USA, with WWOOFing opportunities near and far from home for all US students in every single state, as well as in the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. WWOOF gap year stays can be customized by length, from a day or weekend on a local farm up to a week, full semester, or even longer.
Some WWOOF hosts are registered as non-profit organizations and thus able to offer service or school credit!
