Juniper Young Writers Online Winter Workshop is an online opportunity for teens to partake in guided write-ins and writing labs with instructors who will share Writer’s Life sessions, offering students a glimpse into a real writer’s process. Juniper Institute for Young Writers Online looks for creative, talented, ambitious writers who aren’t afraid to take risks and explore new and unconventional ideas among the company of their creative peers. The program is in partnership and affiliation with UMass Amherst.
14 contact hours with esteemed industry-renowned instructors: Instructors include professional teachers, published authors, and UMass Amherst grad students pursuing an MFA in creative writing.
Inspiration for new ideas: Juniper staff facilitate brainstorming and community building sessions, in addition to write-alongs with set prompts and challenges to guide students towards a clear end goal in their own creative way. Participants virtually share their work with peers and instructors, making the program interactive and engaging.
Class size: The writing labs are limited to ten students each, ensuring adequate interaction, as well as an optimal amount of individual attention.
Feedback from the pros: Students are provided robust written feedback and a 360-degree evaluation of their work, progression throughout the program, and suggestions for their literary future, given by writing lab instructors.
