Boston University is home to some of the finest minds in science, making the university’s Research in Scientific & Engineering program a popular choice for ambitious students seeking for the perfect summer science program. Students can participate in either an internship (working on research projects under the supervision of a BU faculty member) or a practicum over the course of six weeks (conducting group research under the guidance of a BU instructor). With either option, students may be confident that they are engaging in one of the greatest summer science programs for high school students available.
We anticipate that around 130 students will participate in the RISE program. Students live alongside and participate in social events with High School Honors kids, another program with roughly 130 students.
Internship students are assigned a mentor and work on research projects in a university laboratory, whereas Practicum students participate on computational neurobiology research projects. Under the guidance of teaching professionals, practicum research projects are done.
