The Summer Pre-College program at the New York School of Interior Design allows high school students with an interest in interior design to actually experience and comprehend life as a designer. It’s the ideal method to discover how your passion may become your vocation.

As a Summer Pre-College student, you will study the fundamentals of interior design from experienced designers who teach the College’s undergraduate and graduate seminars in onsite in-person classrooms or online, real-time sessions from anywhere in the world. With actual or virtual tours and live Q&A with design industry luminaries, you’ll be able to take advantage of all New York, the world’s design capital, has to offer.

The Pre-College Program at the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) consists of two ten-day sessions designed to immerse you in the creative and gratifying field of interior design. Professional interior designers teach the classes, as do teachers from NYSID’s degree programs. Discover more!

This course, which is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, will introduce you to interior design and help you explore career options. You’ll be able to attend design specialists’ lectures, witness demonstrations of architectural drawings and digital media, and develop your own designs in studio courses.

The Pre-College program at the New York School of Interior Design allows creative high school students to experience life as an interior designer for residential (PC-1) and hospitality (PC-2) design. This “hands on” event covers the fundamentals of interior design and is taught by genuine academic members. Available both online and in person. There is no prior sketching experience required. All students will participate in one-of-a-kind presentations and live Q&As with design industry professionals. Students in New York City receive access to industry-only showroom visits. There are scholarships available.

And, of course, NYSID is in the center of New York City, so you can enjoy everything the city has to offer. Aside from seminars at NYSID, there will be field visits to interior design businesses, museums, and historical places across the city.
