Loop Abroad offers both in-person travel (abroad) and remote (online) exciting veterinary experiences, group programs, and courses for students ages 14 through 25 who love or would love to learn more about animals!
All courses and experiences include one-on-one mentorship with veterinarians and interactive discussions with classmates, and Loop Abroad’s instructors are experts in their fields with vast collective experience working with domestic animals and wildlife, traveling, and teaching. Courses are open to any interested participants seeking to enroll, including international students and those who may fall on the outer edges of the specified age range; students do not need any prior experience, knowledge, nor prerequisite course completion, though all courses are taught in English (just a note to international students).
Virtual (online) course requirements, rigor, & overview:
Loop Abroad courses do include the opportunity for actual college credit; courses include 300-level and 400-level US university courses, and grading corresponds to that level. Ideally, participants seeking course credit will have completed a semester of college-level biology and have an understanding of basic scientific terms, though this is not a requirement, and no experience with veterinary medicine or the specific area of coursework (zoo medicine, big cats, elephants, etc) is required.
Courses are accessible for a 6-8 week session, and taking 4-5 courses (12-15 credits) in one semester would be about the same workload as being a full-time university student on campus.
Each course has 12-15 modules, each of which includes:
A few of our online course offerings:
In addition to the above online courses, Loop Abroad also offers even more in-person, real-world, travel abroad experiences for students seeking a more interactive wildlife experience. These travel experiences will be both exciting and educational and act as a great launchpad for students considering a pursuing higher education degree or a career in Zoology, Veterinary Medicine, or Wildlife Conservation.
