Cornell University offers students a wide array of both online and residential (on campus) for-credit and not-for-credit courses, spanning dozens of subjects, with the opportunity for participating students to work with esteemed Cornell faculty, study alongside undergraduates, and prepare for their future university experience. Cornell’s pre-college programs include a variety of subject matters and formats year-round, ranging from semester-long classes to on-day executive seminars, and if students can’t find exactly what they’re looking for, Cornell can help design a bespoke program for your student!

Online course format and offerings:

  • Three- or six-week undergrad-level courses
  • Transferrable university credits awarded
    • Grades recorded on official Cornell transcript and generally transfer toward a degree at Cornell or any other legitimate university
  • Taught by full-time Cornell professors
  • Students view lectures on their own schedule
  • Assignments are given an allotted time frame, though flexible per the student’s availability
  • Email, discussion boards, interactive chat rooms, video conferences, and phone calls will be leveraged to interact with the instructor and student peers

Residential summer program format and structure:

  • Three- or six-week undergrad-level courses on Cornell’s campus
  • Transferrable university credits awarded
    • Grades recorded on official Cornell transcript and generally transfer toward a degree at Cornell or any other legitimate university
  • Students will experience college life, staying in a residence hall with classmates and eating at the campus dining halls
  • Residential staff provide round-the-clock supervision and support
  • Students will attend an on-campus college fair and get tips during college admissions workshops
  • Students will receive one-on-one application essay counseling
