The Boston University School of Visual Arts Summer Institute offers high school students (ages 1518) an intensive visual arts program designed to help build exceptional portfolios. Whether preparing portfolios for college admission or simply working to improve technical abilities, students are introduced to materials and methods used in professional artistic practice. In addition to classes and studio time, students visit and study works of art in area museums, participate in special workshops, and experience life as a Boston University student. Students earn three college credits at the programs completion, and leave the program with work ready to be included in their portfolios.
