The CSI Summer Camp is a hands-on, in-depth program filled with forensic science and CSI professionals leading different exercises. National specialists from local, county, state, and federal laboratories and organizations come to our unique camp to impart their enormous understanding of CSI and forensic science!

In this one-week intensive camp at San José State University, you will learn the secrets of how CSIs uncover hidden evidence, careful observation and collection of evidence, detection and interpretation of fingerprints, blood stain patterns, DNA, report writing, ethics, and court testimony from actual experts in the field.

Activities include:

Crime Scene Investigation, Chain of Custody, Evidence documentation and processing
Crime Scene Reconstruction
Fingerprint classification, latent print development, lifting and comparisons
Shoe-print pattern comparisons
Blood presumptive testing
Blood stain pattern analysis
DNA electrophoresis and forensic DNA profiling
Forensic Anthropology
Forensic DNA and International Crime/Human Rights Investigations
Courtroom procedures and testimony

Professors, staff, and students from San José State University’s Forensic Science program, as well as professional CSIs and forensic scientists from California and abroad, will lend their knowledge to the camp. Former crime scene investigators and forensic scientists from our faculty and staff will be on hand to assist with the campers.
