CURIE Academy is a one-week program for high-achieving female high school students who excel in math and science. CURIE Academy, which focuses on rising juniors and seniors who have no prior engineering experience, engages students in two field sessions each day conducted by Cornell Engineering faculty, as well as a week-long research project performed in small groups.
CURIE Academy’s objective is to promote engineering literacy as a major course of study in college, to highlight professional and graduate school options in engineering, and to simplify the admissions process. The CURIE Academy understands that not all students have equal access to STEM educational opportunities and resources. As a result, we actively urge girls from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds and lived experiences, as well as those who may not have access to rich STEM-related curricular resources, to apply for CURIE Academy.
