GYLC is a 10-day leadership journey that begins in Washington DC and travels to New York City. Join students from across the globe for this opportunity to step into the role of a global leader, learn from and interact with subject matter experts, and be empowered to fully realize your true potential. Program Highlights Set yourself apart in todays globally competitive world. At the Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC), you will be inspired to expand your horizons by fully exploring cultural differences, gaining firsthand exposure to the challenges of international diplomacy, developing your passion for international affairs while exploring a future career, and gaining a fresh, new global perspective. This 10-day leadership journey provides an out-of-classroom learning experience and rigorous curriculum that equips students from across the United States and 150 countries with the confidence, independence, skills, and global competitiveness required of the next generation of leaders. During your time at GYLC, you will: Learn from and exchange ideas with some of the world’s top business leaders, policy officials, lobbyists, journalists, diplomats, and academics Visit international embassies, engage with a United Nations speaker, and participate in Global Issues workshops Step into the role of a global leader as you draft policy proposals, debate issues, and work to pass resolutions in a Global Summit simulation where you will present an issue of international importance Study the art of cross-cultural communication as you work side-by-side with peers and experts from diverse cultures and backgrounds Enrich Your Envision Experience Pre-Program Orientation Jumpstart your GYLC experience by arriving in Washington, DC two days early to get settled, meet other GYLC students, explore Washington DC landmarks and attend a college admissions workshop at George Mason University City Adventures: New York City After completing the program, you have the opportunity to enhance your GYLC experience by participating in City Adventures: New York City, where you will make new memories while exploring all that the Big Apple has to offer.
