You’ll receive a firsthand glimpse at the world of forensic science from specialists in the field, including investigators, detectives, crime scene technicians, and pathologists, at Georgetown’s Forensic Science Academy. Crime scene diagramming, the criminal investigative process, and video forensic analysis will be discussed, as well as the ethical dimensions of concerns confronting today’s security professionals. To give exposure to Criminal Forensic investigation, various activities, class interaction, case studies, lectures, debates, mock crime scene production, and examinations have been designed. As you investigate the use of science and medicine in law enforcement, put your critical thinking abilities to the test by recognizing and analyzing evidence.

As a student in the Forensic Science Academy, you’ll spend your day immersed in a blend of classroom lectures, field trips, hands-on activities, and group discussions. Throughout the course of the week, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the following subject areas:
