Are you curious about how science is used in legal investigations? Can you picture yourself as a forensic scientist working in a courtroom, laboratory, crime scene, school, or even a morgue? Forensic Science Camp at BGSU provides high school students with classroom, laboratory, and field training in forensics, as well as exposure to a range of occupations. Come learn about this interesting area at BGSU’s cutting-edge forensic science program, which is taught by outstanding experts that have even been on the hit television show Forensic Files!

BGSU provides a Bachelor of Forensic Science degree with concentrations in Drug, DNA, and Examination that qualifies students for immediate employment.

What types of activities are available to campers?

Learn forensic science from prominent forensic professionals in college-style courses.
Learn about DNA analysis, trace evidence, fingerprinting, and blood stain analysis laboratory work.
Hear from BCI-trained professionals who will run camp sessions.
Take a virtual tour of a pretend crime scene with a forensic expert.
Print casting, fingerprinting, evidence gathering, blood typing, and other home lab services are available.

Who is eligible to attend?
Students entering 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades who want to learn more about forensic science jobs. Prior to camp, we strongly prefer (but do not require) students to have completed at least one advanced math or science course.
