Lmu Pre College Programs Film Production Social Impact Filmmaking 2026

Creating media that is socially responsible and highly effective, students in this four week intensive film program will gain experience in production and delve into media literacy. Apply by our March 15, 2023 deadline for the best chance at being placed in your top choice program. In weeks one and two, students will be placed into working groups, receiving in-class instruction as well as hands-on lab experience for a full overview of the filmmaking process. Topics include workshops in writing, casting, directing and editing. Groups will also be assigned roles and begin pre-production work on their final film project. In week three, groups will begin production on their final film with the final week focused on editing and post-production. The program will conclude with a screening of student work for friends and family. Students who successfully complete this program will receive college credit.
