Combining academic coursework, skill building activities and experiential learning, Summer Academy provides the opportunity to explore your academic interests and strengthen learning strategies, preparing you for a successful transition to university studies. Whether you join us in-person or online, you’ll meet highly motivated students from around the world. For Summer Academy 2022, we are hosting two separate sessions. Two streams will be offered during each session (participants select one). Session 1 (In-Person) July 3 to July 16, 2022 Pathways to Neuro and Health Sciences Have you ever wondered about the brain and how it works? How does it allow us to move, feel, think, and speak? How can we study it? Pathways to Neuro and Health Sciences is a noncredit program that will give you a deep understanding of the brain, one of the most complex systems in the universe. This class will cover not only introductory topics like the mechanics of the brain, but will also delve into subjects like neuropharmacology, human and animal senses, memory, brain imaging techniques, and language. Perspectives on World Politics: International Law, Development, and Organizations This course will delve into subjects that would interest any student fascinated in Political Science, International Development, International Relations, and many other areas of academia. The topics explored in this course engage with the two-way relationship between international politics and international law. This politico-legal system regulates and informs our understanding of phenomena such as war, humanitarian intervention, and transnational terrorism. Perspectives on World Politics provides students with an overview of certain key issues in international relations and international law and encourages them to think critically about the nature of international conflict, cooperation, and governance in the current world.
