Mount Alvernia High School, for girls grades 7-12, enlightens and shapes courageous, compassionate and articulate women who believe that life has a purpose, who are able to discern the good and who will be an effective force for it in the world. The years spent at Mount Alvernia are truly a time of possibilities because we are a school that recognizes and develops the individual talents and unique gifts of each student. Life at Mount Alvernia is characterized by three ideals: we honor the past by respecting the Franciscan traditions of faith and service, we enhance the present by implementing developments in education and learning and we anticipate the future through out technology program that reflects the fields constantly changing advances and where instruction focuses on both expertise and ethics. We are committed to instilling the spiritual and intellectual values young girls will need in order to navigate a lifetime of challenges. Our goal is to not only educate their minds, but to give them vital tools to help them make the right choices. Since 1927 Mount Alvernia has prepared strong, confident young women who are charged with a sense of service to others. These qualities will carry them through college and the rest of their lives and that is perhaps our proudest legacy.
