Michigan State University (MSU) offers a variety of gifted and talented education (GATE) programs that offer a hands-on, professional-led foray for adolescents and teenage students into college-level studies and career-track explorations through industry-specific summer programs. These programs are typically in-person, on campus, though some do have alternative online options.
The MSU GATE Pre-Med session offers students interested in possibly becoming a doctor, nurse, or pharmacist an introduction into STEM, the health care profession, medical courses taught via hands-on, real-world demonstrations, and college admissions and career guidance. Students will learn about the various medical specialties, including emergency medical technicians, pharmacology, physiology, and more, and be mentored through the higher education application and career-track process to best prepare for their post-high-school endeavors.
