Established in 1970, Pine Grove, Inc. is a comprehensive residential facility and school serving children and adolescents with autism, developmental disabilities, and pervasive developmental disorders. Our group homes offer behavioral programming and special education for ages 6-18. The children of Pine Grove, represent a group of children with developmental disabilities accompanied with significant behavioral problems, communication deficits, and poor social skill development. Our children present significant behavioral issues at home, at school and in the community. We strive to focus on individual strengths and needs without ever forgetting that these special children are entrusted to our care by families and agencies who want the best for their children. Behavioral programming focuses on providing each child with an opportunity to learn new, more socially appropriate ways to express themselves and communicate their needs. Supportive and nurturing staff ensure a safe physical and social environment that is responsive to each childs needs. The goal of placement at Pine Grove is to enable children and adolescents to overcome behavioral problems and enhance functioning and independence to the degree that they may be safely stepped down to a less restrictive setting.
