Established in 1952, Farm Camp is a traditional, coed, overnight camp for children ages 8 to 17. We are located less than 3 hours north of San Francisco on 500 acres of beautiful Sonoma County Redwoods, just 1 1/2 miles off of the Pacific Coast Ocean. Farm Camp offers a traditional summer camp experience on a real working farm. We work to create a fun and safe environment that encourages independence while nurturing lasting friendships. At a time when children are increasingly surrounded by smart phones, computers, television, our goal is to get campers outside, actively creating, playing and learning. Your child will be a hands-on, active participant in our farm community, with the freedom to choose their own activities every day. Camp is outstanding at teaching the values of self-reliance and resourcefulness, it facilitates relationships with a focus on collaboration and communication, it is full of opportunities for creativity as well as problem-solving and critical thinking, and it invites exploration, play and adventure. These are most commonly referred to as 21st Century Skills and educational experts believe they are essential for future success. At Farm Camp we believe that camp is critical to the education and development of children, and it is the best possible setting for gaining these skills. Daily Schedule Every day at camp we create a program that blends farm and ranch involvement with traditional summer camp activities. Though we keep a very consistent daily schedule, the program that we offer is always filled with variety. Campers and staff play a role in helping design the program each day and are always encouraged to give input to directors. Our morning and afternoon activities are always free choice, and after campers hear all of the activities that are offered for that period they are free to sign up for whatever they would like! Families may register for 1, 2, and 4 week sessions, and a scholarship fund is available on an as-needed basis. Camp is important, and we want to get them here!
