
Pratt Institute’s Center K-12 is proud to provide an inspirational summer program for the smartest and brightest New York City college-bound students from high schools around the city. Summer Scholars at Pratt Institute invites high school students entering the 10th, 11th, or 12th grades to register for a two-week summer intensive program comprising studio workshops and a college preparation curriculum held on the Brooklyn campus in July.
Through a sequence of courses in art, design, and allied subjects, all Center K-12 programs offer the benefits of an art and design education.
Faculty from the Schools of Art, Design, and Architecture provide classes. Drawing the Object and Drawing the Figure are two summer courses available. Workshops and activities are also available.
Grades 9-12 Architecture:
Students will investigate the beginnings of architectural world-building utilizing video game engines and augmented reality technology in this session. The program will alternate between physical and digital drawings and model making as it progresses toward an architectural world-building discussion utilizing the video game engines Unity and Unreal. Physical model making, physical sketching, digital model creating, and introductions to Augmented Reality processes utilized in both architecture and the video game industry will be covered. $395 for tuition
