Showa Boston’s mission is to provide students with the opportunity to learn and practice real Japanese right away with Japanese college students. Both In-Person and Online.
Anyone in high school or older is welcome to register. Additionally, we now welcome middle school-aged or younger students, so long as they register with and are accompanied by a parent, sibling, or friend who is high school-age or older.
Showa Boston offers a wide range of courses during the fall (September to December) and spring (February to June).
Each class meets once a week. Students can pick the time slot that works best for them, but should be prepared to commit to a 12-week course. To find out more about course dates, costs, and your instructors, check out our website!
As Boston’s only study abroad campus of a Japanese university, we are proud to offer the following to our students and partners.
Proven Teaching Methodology
Our classes focus on selected topics and real-life situations. Activities are designed to help students understand and respond to those topics and situations as they would in the real world.
Instructor-led Experience
Showa Boston instructors have a minimum of 15 years of teaching experience. Instructors will lead the conversation in the online and In-Person class and work with students directly.
Japanese Conversation Partners
A select group of Japanese student partners, including students studying at Showa Boston, will participate in conversational practice during the class, targeting key learning areas.
Showa Boston also facilitates Japanese Study Abroad programs and cultural exchange opportunities between their US (Boston, MA) and Japan campus.
