Do you like television shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Profiler, The System, Law & Order, The First 48, and 48 Hours Mystery? Do you wish to assist in the investigation of a murder? Do you want to discover what goes on behind the scenes of a high-stakes murder investigation and trial? Do you want to know what it’s like to be locked up? Do you wish to meet people in the criminal justice, law enforcement, forensic medicine, and forensic psychology fields?
Stockton University welcomes you to participate in Stockton CSI, a summer camp for high school students interested in gaining hands-on experience with a criminal investigation and trial.
Stockton University’s CSI Summer Camp is in its 16th year of success.
What will occur during the Stockton CSI?
Campers will assist an elite team of investigators and specialists in solving a crime. From the crime scene investigation through the criminal murder trial, they will be involved in every stage of the legal procedure. Each camp session focuses on a different murder case!
Over the course of five days, campers will:
- Collect fingerprints and other evidence samples
- File evidence requests and examine the outcomes
- Interrogate witnesses and people of interest
- Prepare a case for a murder trial.
- Present the case before a judge and jury.
- Discover what truly happened in a film shot before camp began.
- Have in-depth talks about jobs in criminal justice, forensic science, and other fields.
Campers will work with:
- University Professors with Ph.D.s in their disciplines and extensive research experience in their fields
- State Police
- Federal Air Marshals
- A K-9 Unit
- Corrections Officers
- Victim Services Providers
- A Medical Examiner Investigator
- A former JAG officer and current attorney
Campers will take field trips to:
- The Medical Examiner’s Autopsy Room
- The Federal Air Marshal Training Facility
- A Juvenile Victim Services Facility
- The County Jail
