The SES program is intended to encourage young people to pursue science and engineering degrees in college so that they can eventually work in the scientific and technological sector. It allows participants to learn about the various career options available in engineering. Participants attend unique workshops, complete their own engineering projects, and get to know Santa Clara University outside of the classroom through afternoon and evening leisure events.
SES will now offer an advanced SES curriculum during the second summer. As a result, we can now offer SES as a two-year curriculum. This will allow participants to delve further into the majors of their choice.
However, the application pool has changed as a result of this addition. Only current sophomores in high school will be allowed to apply for our long-running introductory SES program. Only students who participated in the summer of 2022 are eligible for the new, advanced second-year SES program.
This amazing five-day immersion summer program is for current high school sophomores interested in pursuing a career in engineering. The program provides specifically developed introductory workshops taught by our engineering professors that are delivered as a combination of lecture and interactive work encompassing numerous domains of engineering. Participants will also receive a taste of university life and collegiate academic requirements. Students will engage with our teachers, students, and other members of the SCU community during the week in addition to living in the dormitories.
