Syracuse University: Accelerated Semester Online for High School Students

We offer college-level courses for high school students, taught by Syracuse University faculty/staff.

During the academic year, high school students can enroll in credit-bearing online 8-week courses. Courses at Syracuse University are typically 15 weeks long during the fall and spring semesters. As a result, the 8-week online courses are more accelerated and time-consuming.

Students attend one weekly synchronous (live) 90-minute session with the course instructor. Students will also be required to complete 8-10 hours of asynchronous work per week, which could include watching videos, reading, and completing assignments. These classes include both high school and undergraduate students.

Eligibility:

Grade Level: Students must be current juniors or seniors or high school graduates.
GPA: Students applying to Accelerated Semester Online should be in good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

The cost per credit is $695.
As a result, three-credit courses cost $2,085, and four-credit courses cost $2,780. A nonrefundable $30 application fee is charged to cover the cost of application processing.
*Accelerated Semester Online courses do not qualify for financial aid or discounts.

Advising: The Office of Pre-College Programs will provide advising and support to all high school students enrolled in an Accelerated Semester Online course. Check-ins and proactive outreach Academic progress is being tracked. For any questions, provide a prompt response and/or referral.
