Trek Epic is a novel way for outdoor-loving, nature-hungry, travel-eager students (ages 18+) to embark on a right-of-passage-like activity in the form of a guided trek in an international, breathtaking location, such as the historic European country sides. Days are spent traversing farms, forests, fields, villages, and end in hostels or modes (English Bed and Breakfasts). Groups are co-ed and limited to 5 to 8 participants, and Gap Year groups are limited to those ages 18-24.
While the cost per participant would be high due to in-country transportation, housing, meals, the guide, etc., Trek Epic operates on an application-based grant system, as a non-profit organization. Thus, there is a highly selective admissions process. Outside of the grant, trekkers will need to pay for their own airfare and discretionary spending ($400 recommended).
Trek Epic’s Gap Year Program begins with either a 10-Day or 3-Week “Launch” Trek, followed by mentored and supported Self Selected Independent Experiences based on participant interests, culminating on with a 10-Day Advanced or “Capstone” Trek.
