Virginia Space Flight Academy Adventure Program is the perfect in-person STEM and aerospace-focused co-ed camp that combines excitement, hands-on experiences, rocket-building, coding, robot-building, and drone flying over a 6-day, 5-night educational enrichment camp!
Students ages 11 – 17 are welcome to join, and the camp is a best-fit for those with a demonstrated interest in NASA, robotics, rockets, or engineering.
In addition to daily collaborative activities and hands-on building projects, students will also get to meet industry experts and explore behind-the-scenes of operational aerospace facilities.
A few more details:
- Campers will build and launch rockets
- Campers will both create a rocket from a kit and a custom-built one
- Campers will leverage Lego Mindstorms EV3 kits for coding and robotics
- Campers will design, build, and program their robots
- Campers will collaborate on competitive challenges to task their robots with specific actions
- Campers will participate in a drone challenge to learn drone technology in a real-life scenario
- Campers will also learn a basic overview of the FAA and the rules to fly in the United States
