The virtual SummerLAB program at the Wentworth Institute of Technology introduces architecture, construction, planning, design, and implementation to high school students, giving them exposure to all phases of a complete architectural project–from initial design concepts through development and refinement and including realization as a full-scale construction on a site.
Instructors are immersing designers who received their educations through the WIT Architecture graduate degree program and are proven throughout their years at WIT to be talented high energy designers committed to design excellence and the role of making in architecture.
Program attendees will also receive full time support from specialists trained in all modes of fabrication offered here at Wentworth.
Students will design and build a project in collaboration with the Charlestown Resident Alliance for the Bunker Hill Apartments, a Boston Housing Authority development in Charlestown. The program aims to install the project on-site at the housing development by the end of the program.
