In 1971 a group of parents stepped out in faith to start a Christian school with high academic standards. Thanks to the prayers, hard work and generous hearts of those founders, Westminster Schools of Augusta was founded in 1972 as a ministry of First Presbyterian Church. A coeducational, independent, college-preparatory day school, Westminster serves 608 students in grades Pre-K through 12. The campus is comprised of 34 acres in a residential section of West Augusta. Lower School students occupy the self-contained Pamplin Hall. Across the campus, Westminster Middle School and Upper School students have separate classroom buildings but share athletic and co-curricular facilities with each other. A variety of athletic and fine art opportunities combine with our strong academic programs to produce well-rounded students. With strong AP and SAT test results as well as knowledge of how to study, Westminster graduates are prepared for college and beyond. The school has received multiple state championship wins in athletics, and our students have received recognition in state and national fine arts competitions.
