6-week summer STEM research experience for 10th and 11th graders at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's Grainger College of Engineering

Rising high school juniors and seniors (current 10th-11th grade) are encouraged to apply for a 6-week summer STEM research experience at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Grainger College of Engineering, a world-class research university. You will receive hands-on experience in topics such as cancer immunology, neurology, artificial intelligence, physics, quantum mechanics, bioengineering, electrical engineering, and others. Accepted participants will be paired with another student and a teacher from their school (Everyone must apply separately).

High school students will:

Participate in cutting-edge research activities of established engineers, computer scientists, and physicians.
Weekly lectures on subjects such as college entrance procedures and available assistance, speaking scientifically, and how to construct a research poster will help you develop professional and college-ready abilities.
Increase your self-esteem as a scientist and engineer.
Interact with instructors, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, undergraduate students, and local high school teachers as you embark on this STEM research journey.
With a research poster and symposium at the end of the program, you may showcase your study.
Plan on spending 30-35 hours a week on study and professional growth.
The majority of events will take place on the University of Illinois campus and online.
Some transportation/parking costs, lunches, and a monetary prize are included.
