Write The World Writing For Publication Camp 2026

Have you ever wondered what it takes to share your writing with the world? What you really need to know to submit your short story to a literary journal, for example, or write an Op-Ed for the newspaper, or publish on a professional blog, or even pitch your own book to an editor or agent? If so, then this Write the World’s Writing for Publication Camp is for you! We will spend a week taking a peek behind the curtain of the publishing world to explore how best to find and share our identities as authors, seek right fit publication opportunities, write story pitches and book proposals, and more. Learn from guest agents and editors in the publishing field as you grow as a writer (or maybe as a future editor, agent, or publishing professional yourself!). Curriculum Summary: Participants of all skill levels will walk away with 9+ responses to writing prompts dedicated to numerous aspects of publishing (pitching, querying, crafting book proposals, developing an author platform, setting goals for future projects, etc.), as well as one finalized, submittable pitch and outline of a draft article. Writers will receive and provide written and verbal peer review from/for fellow campers and will benefit from individualized feedback from their instructors. As an added bonus, young writers will participate in two interactive Q&A conversations with literary agent Becca Podos and acquisitions editor Louisa Irele. During workshop sessions, youll engage in interactive writing activities, connect with peers around the world, and work together to grow your writing skills. Between workshop sessions, you may be asked to work independently (and asynchronously) on writing prompts and activities, guided by peer and expert reviews, at your own pace, for approximately 1-2 hours, depending on your facilitators workshop plan. You will also receive individualized feedback that will strengthen your writing.
