This program is designed for middle and high school students who are interested in entrepreneurship and startup ventures. Students will be working with executives to brainstorm different ideas to start a venture, figure out how it impacts our local community, and determine how it’s going to make money while driving change. Our M2M Bootcamp is a 10-week Saturday program where students from a variety of backgrounds and interests learn how to harness their own skills and interests as a launchpad to create a value-driven, sustainable solution to a real-life market opportunity. If you: Have thought about starting your own businessHave written a business plan in school but don’t really know where to go from thereWant to make a big impact on your community, even the worldFrustrated with problems you encounter, and wonder why a better solution hasn’t come alongWonder what type of contributing citizen you can beLove to problem-solveHave a particular STEAM interest that you’d love to explore as a career option This Bootcamp is for you! Oftentimes, folks pigeonhole what an entrepreneur looks like, acts like, or where they can come from, but that’s really boring and doesn’t help address some of the most complex problems in our community — and in our world. Youth CITIES partners with prominent executives from the business and nonprofit community who teach fundamentals of leadership, entrepreneurship, presentation skills, and business plan creation, and share strategies for leveraging business principles to impact society. Students compete individually or in teams to start-up and build a social venture to solve real-world problems. The top venture ideas will present to a panel of finalist judges.
