The School of Technology & Design at New York City College of Technology (CUNY) propels students toward rewarding careers in engineering, design and media by offering application-driven and interdisciplinary learning, professional internships and faculty with diverse expertise. A part of the Northeast’s largest public college technology program, known as City Tech, the  School of Technology & Design at New York City College of Technology (CUNY) grants bachelor’s and associate degrees in a variety of fields, along with certificates in construction management and sustainable technology. Students learn computer-based design, communications, construction and other skills while connecting their technological-based education with physical materials and production processes. Cross-department education and peer-to-peer and student-faculty connections strengthen professional capabilities, preparing students for careers in the dynamic design and technology industries. Students can also take courses in a secondary field of study. City Tech, located in Brooklyn, offers a diverse learning environment, with students and faculty from 120 different countries speaking more than 80 languages. The school makes available ample student resources, including tutoring, counseling, dental and eye clinics, a professional development center, veterans support services and recreational activities . Departments include: Architectural Technology Communication Design Computer Engineering Technology Computer Systems Technology Construction Management Technology Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications Technologies Entertainment Technology Environmental Control Technology Mechanical Engineering Technology Cost and Session Information A $100 deposit is required for registration. This may be waived for veterans, special program students and students whose families $3,000 or less according to FAFSA. Rates effective Fall 2019: Resident Students Full-time matriculated: $3,465 per semester Part-time matriculated: $305 per credit All Non-degree: $445 per credit (no limit) Senior citizen fee: $65 per semester or session All Non-Resident Students Full-time matriculated: $620 per credit Part-time matriculated: $620 per credit All Non-degree: $915 per credit (no limit) Fall semester application is February 1. Spring semester application deadline is September 15. Federal and state financial aid is available. All incoming students are required to take the CUNY Skills Assessment Tests in reading, writing and mathematics, unless they meet certain exceptions.
