Philander Smith College is a small, privately supported, historically Black, liberal arts institution related to the Ministry of the United Methodist Church. The colleges mission is to graduate academically accomplished students, grounded as advocates for social justice. While you come to college for your academic studies, research shows that students who are actively involved in co-curricular activities have better grades and higher graduation rates. Thus, we strongly encourage our students to get involved in various organizations, events/activities, and services offered.
