The College of Fine Arts at the University of Arizona has a world-class reputation. The UArizona College of Fine Arts offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs through the School of Art, the School of Dance, the School of Music, and the School of Theatre, Film & Television. The College of Fine Arts at the University of Arizona boasts accomplished faculty and alumni that contribute to its identity as a distinguished student-centered place of learning and creative inquiry. The College’s success is built upon its community of artists and scholars in art, dance, music, theatre arts, and film and television. Members of the faculty maintain strong enthusiasm for cultivating the greatest possible potential for students who study at the College of Fine Arts, as well as pursuing excellence in their individual areas of creative and research expertise. The primary mission of the College of Fine Arts is to prepare students to create, to teach, to participate in, to understand, and to value the arts, sustain excellence in teaching, creative expression, and research in the arts, and to be a source of art creation, knowledge, and inspiration about the arts for Arizona and the nation. The College of Fine Arts also promotes the arts as a means to understand our diverse and pluralistic world and teach the value of artistic intelligence as a mode of thinking, problem solving, and discovery. The college offers liberal arts (Bachelor of Arts) and professional undergraduate (Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Music) degrees, through the School of Art, School of Dance, School of Music, and School of Theatre, Film, and Television. Undergraduates may major in the following: (BA) Art History, Film & Television, Live and Immersive Arts, Music, Studio Art, Theatre Arts; (BFA) Art Education, Art and Visual Culture, Dance, Design Arts and Practice, Film & Television, Studio Art; (BMus) Composition, Jazz Studies, Music Education, and Performance. The college offers graduate programs leading to MA, MM, MFA, PhD, and DMA degrees, through the School of Art, School of Dance, and School of Music. Master’s degrees are offered in Art Education, Art History, Dance (Choreography, Performance), Studio Art, Composition, Conducting, Ethnomusicology, Music Education, Musicology, Music Theory, and Performance. Doctor of Musical Arts Degrees are offered in Composition, Conducting, and Performance. Doctor of Philosophy Degrees are offered in Art History & Education, Music Education, and Music Theory.
